My name is Julie Vaughan and it is a privilege to teach 3rd grade at Willard South Elementary. The 2013-2014 school year will mark my 13th year of teaching and I couldn’t feel more proud to be a part of the Willard Community.
When I’m not at school I am a wife to my high school sweetheart, Brad, and mother to 3 fantastic children. My oldest, Nathan, will soon turn 9 and is in 3rd grade, Katie will celebrate her 6th birthday in September and begins kindergarten this year, and my 4 year old son Alex rounds out our bunch with his silly and sweet self. As you can imagine they keep me very busy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I LOVE spending time with my family outside working in the yard, going for walks, riding bikes, playing both tennis and baseball, and grilling out. I am very fond of baseball and I could spend all day at the fields watching my kids. I also LOVE the St. Louis Cardinals . I enjoy making sweets and I've become quite good at making cake pops if I do say so myself. I like listening to music, watching TV and movies when there's a free moment.
I am a Springfield native and I graduated from Parkview High School in 1996. I went on to attend SMSU (now MSU) where I graduated in 2001. I've never gone far from home and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love the area, I love my school, and I love my students! Nothing brightens my day like a visit from a former student and hearing all about their successes.
I feel honored that you have given me the opportunity to teach your child this year. I am looking forward to getting to know each student in depth and working closely with you to help your child reach their greatest potential.
